Personalized, Consistent Care from Experienced Professionals
With over a decade of collaboration, Jen and Amy offer hands-on treatment rooted in shared values, attentive listening, and a commitment to helping you return to what you love—without the use of extenders or aides.
Dr. Jen Lausten
Dr. Jen Lausten has been an orthopedic physical therapist for over 30 years while raising 4 kids with her husband, Mark. She graduated from University of Scranton in 1989 and obtained a clinical doctorate degree in PT from VCU in 2012. She enjoys continually learning and growing in best practices for hands-on treatment and latest forms of exercise. She finds treating pain the most rewarding and getting clients back to their sport or simply pain free movements of everyday life. Another specific interest is strength training at all ages to include foundational movements and incorporating healthy breathing patterns. This interest has naturally morphed into Menopausal related issues of a very underserved population. These issues can be any of the following: muscle mass loss, bone density loss, incontinence and balance issues. A common refrain heard in the clinic is “I want to stay healthier and more active than my parents” and by supporting their active lifestyle with customized programs and treatments they are able to meet their unique goals.
Amy Voorhis PTA
Amy grew up here in Leesburg and got her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from James Madison University. After marrying her high school sweetheart, she went back to get her Physical Therapist Assistant Degree from Northern Virginia Community College. Amy is also a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC).
Amy is certified in Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), which gives her a good understanding of regional interdependence of the musculoskeletal and neuromuscular systems. She uses this knowledge to apply a global treatment approach and assess faulty movement patterns and motor plans, both at a global level and at each specific joint. Amy has also completed coursework to designate her with specialization in orthopedics as a PTA.
After having her first baby in 2018, she became interested in educating and empowering women to reconnect with their core and move with confidence. She believes that the postpartum period never ends and therefore it is never too late to improve your alignment and mechanics to move freely without worry. She has been certified in Pregnancy and Post Partum work.
Through a variety of experiences related to her ATC, Amy has worked with a variety of athletes at the Division 1 and high school level. She grew up as a gymnast and has found a passion working with gymnasts of all levels to treat and prevent gymnastics injuries.
